Red Barrels' new title The Outlast Trials has revealed its release date

If you've been keeping up with the news, you probably know that a new Outlast is on the way. There is very good news for fans of the franchise since Red Barrels finally confirmed a release date for The Outlast Trials.

It is a title that will give a twist to the saga's formula, as it will bet on a multiplayer experience, although it can also be enjoyed alone. The game will be released very soon and will be available in early access, so its development will continue to be active.

After some technical tests, The Outlast Trials is already in a state where it can debut. Players will be able to enjoy it starting next May 18. As we told you, it will be an early access release and, for now, it is only planned for PC.

It will be available through Steam and the Epic Games Store for a price that has not yet been revealed. Red Barrels will continue to actively work on its development with the support of the community. This is towards the release of its 1.0 version, which still has no release window.

The Outlast Trials will challenge players to solve dangerous trials alone or in the company of up to 3 other players. It is set in the Cold War and deals with human experimentation by the Murkoff Corporation.

"Human guinea pigs are involuntarily recruited by the good folks at the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing and mind control. In a world of distrust, fear, and violence, your morals will be challenged, your endurance tested, and your sanity crushed. All in the name of progress, science, and profit," reads its description.

Red Barrels celebrated Halloween 2019 with a mysterious image they posted on social networks to which shortly after they revealed the new project they would be working on. A little over 3 years later there is finally an official date on which many will be able to experience this ambitious new title in the Outlast universe.
