Since its premiere at the beginning of February, Hogwarts Legacy has dominated the popularity charts and has become one of the most successful video games in recent months. However, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players must try it out. Unfortunately, the wait will be longer than previously thought.
The Harry Potter title was set to debut on all platforms on February 10, 2023. However, Avalanche Software and Warner Bros. Games adjusted their schedule, confirming late last year that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions would debut on April 4. Unfortunately, there was another change of plans.
WHEN WILL THE PLAYSTATION 4 AND XBOX ONE VERSIONS OF HOGWARTS LEGACY DEBUT?
Through a post on social networks, the developer studio thanked the community for its support and confirmed that the ports for the old-generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft suffered another delay. The title's debut for these platforms is scheduled for May 5.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude by fans' response to Hogwarts Legacy worldwide. The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience across all platforms, and we need more time to do that. Hogwarts Legacy will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023," the statement reads.

We must remember that the video game set in the magical world of Harry Potter will arrive on Nintendo Switch on July 25. There's no mention of whether or not that version was delayed, so fans of the hybrid console should rest easy for now.
This news undoubtedly represents a bitter pill for PS4 and Xbox One player who hopes to enjoy the open-world video game. May 5th will be the final date.
DESPITE THE BOYCOTT, HOGWARTS LEGACY IS A SUCCESS
Meanwhile, the title from Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software has already achieved great success since the debut of the versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC in early February. A little less than a month after its launch, it managed to ship more than 12 million units worldwide.
The popularity of Hogwarts Legacy is incredible, especially when it debuted in the eye of the storm due to the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling, the British writer responsible for the original Harry Potter books.
