The State of Play had announcements for different tastes. Bandai Namco took advantage of the occasion to present a new Naruto game that will seek to be the definitive and most complete version of the franchise.
In the presentation, the Japanese company announced Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, the new installment of its successful Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm fighting series. The name seems repetitive, but the game will include several new features.
Unlike previous titles in the Storm saga, Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will feature events from Naruto's childhood to the final battle with Sasuke, as well as "a new story "exclusive to the game".
According to official details, this title will "combine and re-edit selected scenes" from the 4 installments of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. Among the new features can be seen a graphical and performance improvement, as the battles will be super smooth (60 fps) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will also come to last-generation consoles, including Nintendo Switch.
Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections will have the largest cast of characters in the history of any Naruto game, as it will feature all 124 ninjas who have appeared in previous installments of the Storm series, plus completely new ones, such as some members of the Otsutsuki clan, precisely the Ashura and Indra Otsutsuki brothers, who started with the ninja clans. Other characters are expected to be revealed at a later date.

Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC and is expected to debut at some point in 2023.
