The open-world title developed by Avalanche Software officially debuted on February 10, though those who purchased the Deluxe Edition could play 3 days early. Naturally, dozens of streamers from the Amazon platform decided to share their experience with their followers.
This allowed Hogwarts Legacy to surpass Cyberpunk 2077's record and become the most successful single-player game in Twitch history, with a peak of 1.2 million viewers. Thus, and to no one's surprise, it established itself as one of the most popular categories in February since its debut.
HOGWARTS LEGACY DOMINATED TWITCH DURING FEBRUARY
According to data from the SullyGnome portal (via Dexerto), the title set in the magical world of Harry Potter was the third most popular category on Twitch in February, with 55,052,622 hours viewed. It surpassed giants like Grand Theft Auto V and VALORANT, although it fell behind Just Chatting and League of Legends.
Of course, this RPG proposal could not avoid controversy during its passage through the Amazon platform. Within the framework of the official launch, a group of fans attacked the streaming platform for promoting the title. In addition, users harassed streamers who were doing live broadcasts.
Despite these drawbacks, Hogwarts Legacy has succeeded significantly since its debut. It appeared on Steam's best-seller lists during its first few days in stores and dominated Europe, Japan, and other markets.
