Many rejoiced when it was announced that PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 will receive classic PlayStation games. The problem is that it seemed that the only way to play them would be through an active PlayStation Plus Premium or PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscription. Luckily, the reality is different.

This Tuesday, February 21, 2023, the PlayStation Store was updated to receive all the games for PlayStation Plus Extra, PlayStation Plus Deluxe, and PlayStation Plus Premium, as well as other new features. One thing that came as a surprise is that there is already another way to get the new PS Plus classics outside of the subscription.

What happens is that Wild Arms 2, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, and The Legend of Dragoon are sold separately. Thus, people who don't want to pay for the subscription can buy these titles to enjoy them.

  • Wild Arms 2 ― $9.99 USD
  • Harvest Moon: Back to Nature ― $5.99 USD
  • The Legend of Dragoon ― $9.99 USD

In case you missed it: A new DOOM game will debut next month and you will be able to play it for free!

It should be clarified that these are not the first PlayStation games that can be purchased on PS5 and PS4; however, not all games in the catalog can be purchased separately. So, it is great news that the 3 new additions to the classics catalog can be enjoyed without being tied to the subscription.

Will we have a much broader collection of PS1 titles during 2023? Let us know in the comments!
