Every Thursday, we expect a complimentary game from the Epic Games Store, along with a preview of the next title or titles we will receive in the following week. This has become a regular occurrence for us, and we have become accustomed to receiving these free games.

However, there is uncertainty about whether Epic will continue with their weekly giveaways in the future, even though they have been doing so since December 2022. Although the weekly free titles have not stopped, there is no guarantee that this practice will continue indefinitely, and they may choose to discontinue the free games at some point.

What is the game about?

The next title to be given away on the Epic Games Store page on February 23 is Duskers, a single-player strategic indie simulation game released in 2016 that won many different awards such as Best Strategy Games of 2016 and Best Games of 2016 from Kotaku UK, Gamasutra, and PC Gamer, among others.

As stated on the EGS page, "you are a drone operator, surrounded by old gritty tech that acts as your only eyes and ears to the outside world. You have to earn everything in Duskers, scavenging drone upgrades, drones, and even ship upgrades. Duskers is set in a procedurally generated Universe, and when you die you lose everything. You are alone, isolated in the dark reaches of space. Only by sifting through what ship logs remain un-corrupted can you piece together what happened."

As of now, we can only enjoy the free games that we receive each week while also remaining aware of the possibility that this may not last forever. However, the quantity of titles that have been given away is numerous if you have been getting all of them since EGS decided to start this system a few years ago.

How long do you think EGS will continue giving away titles every Thursday? Let us know in the comments!
