The Simpsons Hit & Run is one of the most awaited remakes by the community. It seems difficult that it is going to become a reality at some point, so a fan got down to work. In fact, the project is almost finished.

Through his YouTube channel, Reubs, developer of the unofficial remake of The Simpsons Hit & Run, shared a new preview of the project. In it, he assured that the game is "almost ready" and shared new development details.

WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY THE SIMPSONS HIT & RUN REMAKE?

Without a doubt, the remake of The Simpsons Hit & Run in Unreal Engine 5 looks phenomenal; however, there is one very bad news: it is very unlikely that it will be released to the public.

The thing is, even though the remake is work done out of the affection of a fan, the reality is that The Simpsons Hit & Run is a game created by someone else. Furthermore, The Simpsons is a registered trademark owned by Disney. Thus, releasing the remake to the public could get Reubs into a lot of legal trouble.

So, the only thing left is to hope that this fan's work is so good and recognized that it motivates Disney to release an official remake. We'll see if we are lucky enough for that to happen.

The Simpsons Hit & Run debuted in 2004 and was available for PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox, and PC.

Do you think it will be possible for us to play this or an official remake in the future? Let us know in the comments!
