PlayStation released this morning (January 30) a new commercial called "Live from PS5", where it promotes its console and some of the most essential releases it has received since its launch. There are excited gamers as they believe the video gives a hint about the future of Uncharted.
Recently, Naughty Dog shared some bad news with the fans of the saga, as it implied that it had come to an end. However, fans are hopeful that the series will continue because of some scenes appearing in the PlayStation 5 promo.
A NEW UNCHARTED GAME IS ON THE WAY?
The promo is full of nods to recent and upcoming PlayStation 5 releases. It's easy to spot references to God of War: Ragnarök, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, Returnal, and more games coming in the next few months. However, a couple of scenes captured the attention of many gamers. They show a woman holding a torch and exploring a mysterious cavern. She slowly approaches a pedestal where there is what appears to be a treasure.
Many immediately thought of Lara Croft and Tomb Raider, but many dismissed the character because of the clothing the woman is wearing in the video. As expected, the setting was also reminiscent of Uncharted, so some gamers believe the commercial has a nod to the possible return of the series.
According to this theory, the saga would return with a protagonist that many relate to the end of Uncharted 4, which we will not comment on here to avoid spoilers. The reality is that the images remain a mystery for now. You can see them below starting at the 0:42 mark.

At the moment we can't say with total certainty if it's really a hint at a new title of this renowned franchise or if it's just a wink represented in a way that made us all confused on purpose. Whatever the real reason is, it is something we will possibly find out sometime in 2023.
