Minecraft Legends already has a release date; will have a cooperative campaign and crossplay

Minecraft Legends was announced last year, and the Mojang community is excited to learn more about this project. Xbox Game Studios knows this very well, and that is why Minecraft Legends was one of the protagonists of the Xbox Developer Direct, an event in which its release date was revealed.

According to the official announcement, Minecraft Legends will be available from April 18. Remember that it is a multiplatform launch, so it will reach Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Remember that, like other releases from Xbox Game Studios, Minecraft Legends will reach the Xbox Game Pass catalog from its release day. This way, you will have the opportunity to play it as part of your subscription. It will be sold on platforms like PlayStation and Nintendo Switch like any other game.

In the Xbox Developer Direct, Mojang showed off the game modes that Minecraft Legends will have. We remind you that this is a real-time strategy game that is being co-developed with Blackbird Interactive, a studio best known for its work on Homeworld, and other great exponents of the strategy genre.

In the video, Mojang revealed that Minecraft Legends would have a narrative campaign that you can play alone or with your friends. Also, the game will have a PvP mode that will allow you to get together with your friends and face another team of 4 players. Best of all, you will be able to connect with your friends regardless of the platform of your choice since Minecraft Legends will have crossplay and matchmaking.

The Minecraft Legends presentation at the Xbox Developer Direct was focused on showcasing various elements of PvP. Thanks to this, we already know that this mode and the campaign will have several procedurally generated elements, making each game feel different. Likewise, it was confirmed that there would be PvE elements since the enemies of the campaign will appear on the map to try to eliminate both teams.

Another important point is that Minecraft Legends will allow various styles of play. For example, players who prefer action will be able to jump straight into combat, while others will be able to explore the map to gather resources and strengthen their team. You can also dedicate yourself to building your base to be the most powerful and resistant.

Minecraft Legends is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 18.
