Originally released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64 system, the legendary game GoldenEye 007 will be released on Xbox next-gen consoles and Nintendo Switch + Expansion Pack members. A few months ago, on September 2022, the announcement of this title coming to the Xbox Game Pass was made, and today we have the release date for it.
The game developers of GoldenEye 007 Rare have officially announced the release date for this title for its availability in modern consoles. It is coming on January 27, 2023. That's correct. It is launching in exactly two days! Available to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players via Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
Numerous fans enjoyed this title in their childhood and considered it one of the best FPS games around that time. Now everyone will have the chance to try it out for the first time, while others will relive the nostalgia of playing it again with a few modern touches.
As stated in the Xbox official article, it includes a local multiplayer mode for split-screen showdowns with friends and offers a few key additions for a modern audience, including alternative control options, achievements to unlock, and native 16:9 resolution up to 4K Ultra HD (where supported). It is also said that "players who own a digital copy of Rare Replay will be able to download and enjoy the game free of charge."
