If you're a fan of Granblue Fantasy, you know that it started out as an RPG and with the debut of Granblue Fantasy: Versus in 2020 it ventured into the fighting genre. Well, the Cygames franchise is close to trying its luck in a popular new genre. Incredible as it may seem, Granblue Fantasy will dabble in Battle Royale in the purest Fall Guys style.
While it was thought that the main presentation of Granblue Fantasy Fes 2022-2023 would be focused on Granblue Fantasy: Relink, by the quantity and quality of announcements it can be said that the Granblue Fantasy: Versus segment was the best, since its new version, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will not only feature improvements to the battle gameplay but will implement gameplay never seen before in the series.
A Fall Guys-like game within the main game?
Among these new features is a new room in the online mode called Island, which will allow players to meet virtually with a chibi avatar of the characters they love so much and with whom they can forget about the fighting game to do other different and new activities, such as running, jumping and exploring.
It will be possible to participate in a mode called Grand Bruise Legends, which is a compendium of mini-games or secondary modes, for example, Brick Hoarder, which will be a kind of team competition, in which, as its name suggests, players will have to hoard gold pieces.
The most striking mode is Rising Royale which, as you can imagine, is Granblue Fantasy's foray into Battle Royale. Judging by the first images and gameplay, it looks very similar to Fall Guys, as the chibi characters will have to pass circuits and platforms in the style of those in Stumble Dome.
Granblue Fantasy Battle Royale mode and the other modes and additions will be part of the new Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising version, which, although very similar to the old version, is apparently a full-fledged sequel with several additions. It has no release date yet but is expected to debut in 2023. Additionally, it is officially confirmed that rollback netcode and crossplay will be available.

It is certainly a totally unexpected announcement for fans, plus Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is announced for release later this year, we can see that it will have a variety of features that will make it a very unique and fun-filled game.
