After showing Afterimage during Nintendo's event on indie games coming to Switch in 2023, the team at Aurogon Shanghai updates us on developing this interesting 2D action adventure with a gameplay video that reveals its release date on PC and consoles.
Produced in collaboration with publisher Modus Games, Afterimage transports fans of Metroidvania and scrolling platform adventures into a fantasy dimension filled with mysteries to discover and enemies to face, all in the setting of an entirely hand-drawn pastel-colored setting.
A fantastic-looking adventure
In the course of the adventure, we will face titanic creatures and meet adorable wandering elves while shuttling between the ruins of an ancient civilization, enchanted forests, and idyllic scenery that, however, is in danger of being destroyed by a dark ancestral force.
To get the better of enemies and solve more complex puzzles, our alter-ego must gain the experience necessary to master the combat styles and special abilities unlockable for ten different weapons.

Afterimage is scheduled to launch on April 26 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The project draws inspiration from the Metroidvania and scrolling adventures of the 80s and 90s, as well as modern works such as Ori.
