One of the most notorious killers on the Dead By Daylight roster is about to be removed from the game soon. Some leakers reveal this on Twitter, including the now very famous DBDLeaks, a now very reliable voice for what concerns the world of Behaviour Interactive's asynchronous horror.

Yesterday, a sudden farewell message dedicated to Leatherface appeared on the profile of the well-known insider, a post that immediately catalyzed the attention of the game's fans. The reasons that could push the publisher and developers to remove such an important character from the roster are unknown. Still, the community is convinced that this stems from some licensing issues related to the release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a multiplayer horror game starring precisely the fearsome Leatherface.

Say goodbye to Bubba?

This hypothesis seems to be corroborated by the fact that Leatherface perks on DBD received alternate names during the latest testing in the public test servers, along with what happened to Stranger Things characters before their removal. Of course, we are still dealing with mere rumors, which is why we urge you to wait for any confirmation from Behaviour Interactive.

In any case, the possible removal of Leatherface from the game should not scare you since the team has many surprises in store for the future. During a recent interview with Dexerto's microphones, Head of Partnerships Mathieu Côté promised surprising crossovers between DBD and unreleased franchises.

The developers, by the way, have had a lot of trouble with cheaters lately. It is estimated that more than 64000 DBD players were banned in 2022. High numbers testify to the team's great commitment to combating an all-too-common phenomenon in online multiplayer titles.
