The Among Us inspired free-to-play game Goose Goose Duck reached a peak of 563,677 players on Steam this Thursday, January 5, and it is believed that the high popularity of this title has been thanks to Kim Tae-Hyung, professionally known as V, of the South Korean boy band BTS.
On late November 2022, Taehyung did a live stream where he got to play Goose Goose Duck with fans. Since then, there has been an exponential increase in players to the point of surpassing the game from which it was originally inspired, Among Us.
Daniel Ahmad, an industry analyst, also stated via]Twitter that the game is receiving much of this popularity in Asian markets including China and Korea, and also considers that the reason for this is due to the BTS member playing this title on stream.
