Making all fans of the historic horror saga happy, Konami has unveiled the remake of Silent Hill 2, entrusted to the hands of Bloober Team. The Polish team, known for Layers of Fear and The Medium, said it had to overcome competition from other development studios to take on such an important IP.

In a recent interview, Anna Jasińska, Bloober's Chief Marketing Officer, revealed that the idea of remaking Silent Hill 2 was something that "haunted the studio for many years." Still, in 2019 the company was officially invited by Konami to participate in the Tokyo Games Show. At the showcase, the publisher asked Bloober Team to prepare a pitch for the Silent Hill 2 remake, but apparently, they were not the only ones tasked with capturing Konami's attention.

A tough competition

''Of course, we weren't the only contenders. Many other studios were vying for cooperation as well, but in the end, our concept was the one that stole Konami's heart.'' Jasińska said.

The Chief Marketing Officer also reveals that Bloober Team's "commitment and passion for horror" was the main factor that led them to win Konami's secret contest. Curiosity to find out more is high, but Jasińska avoided naming explicit names regarding the other studios competing for the horror game remake.
