Two of the biggest 2022 Sony titles

Horizon Forbidden West saw the light on February 18, 2022, and while this may have given it some kind of advantage seems like God of War: Ragnarök has surpassed it only a month after its release… at least in the UK.

Overshadowed

According to Head of GamesIndustry, Christopher Dring, God of War: Ragnarök outsold Horizon: Forbidden West in terms of UK sales via physical retailers, yes… including bundles. However, he is waiting for digital sales data to come out to make things official.

Nonetheless, digital data out or not this puts the latest God of War at the No.4 highest-selling new release of 2022 in the UK just behind FIFA 23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Should we be surprised?

Is not a secret how incredibly good God of War: Ragnarök was performing in the charts, it even sold more than 5 million copies in one week which made it the fastest-selling first-party on PlayStation.

Also, the reviews pre-release were overwhelmingly good calling it “everything you could possibly have wanted from the sequel” or “One of the best games ever made”, now with these records we must believe it.

This is not the end of it, while it has not been confirmed if this sequel will receive a DLC to continue the hype surrounding it at least was announced that the game is receiving its New Game Plus mode this spring. On the other hand, Horizon Forbidden West will receive a DLC called Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores scheduled for April 19 this year. So, choose your favourite, there are still a lot of things coming for both games.
