Escape From Tarkov: late 2022 patch 0.13.0.0 arrives!

Last March, the future of Escape From Tarkov seemed uncertain, as the Russian team at Battlestate Games went silent for almost the entirety of 2022. In recent weeks, however, there has been much talk again about the next update for the celebrated survival FPS, which, just today, will see a server wipe to usher in a new season.

Battlestate Games has confirmed the distribution of patch 0.13 for Escape From Tarkov, with which - as per tradition - players will have to start their adventure in the title again after more than six months. This is not only new stimuli for veterans of the title but also the perfect opportunity to allow newbies to quietly approach one of the most challenging multiplayer experiences in the world of First Person Shooters.

What's new in 0.13?

In addition to the cancellation of progress, there are also many other new features, as can be understood from the official notes provided by the developers: first comes a new map called "Streets of Tarkov," focusing on an unprecedented urban experience in EFT thanks to the inclusion of elaborate buildings, cinemas, abandoned factories, housing estates, and many other key locations.

Battlestate Games places it in the Norvinsk region of northwest Russia, explaining that homes have been evacuated from the population following the conflict between PMC USEC and BEAR and that the remaining forces struggle to escape the city between open streets and narrow corridors in apartments.

In case you missed it: Studio Pierrot's founder, known for Naruto anime, Yuji Nunokawa, passes away.

Accompanying the map are standard and rare improvements on armor and weapons via repair kits and changes to the hideout and cooperative mode. Finally, update 0.13 includes new abilities for light and heavy armor and the following weapons: UBGL, SR-2M 9×21 SMG, Steyr AUG A1, A3, Glock 19X 9×19, and RSH-12 revolver.
