Others want MAPPA to reboot the anime, you can’t please everyone…

Earlier today we informed you that a group of fans decided to unite by starting an online petition against the series. Yeah, you read that one right, some of them are not happy with the MAPPA’s anime adaptation. They seem to have a “good” reason, in their opinion the director Ryuu Nakayama "did not understand Tatsuki Fujimoto's work", and that his direction is totally wrong by showing a product that does not represent the original work.

So far over 2,000 people have signed the petition but… they didn’t expect that another group of fans will come with a counter-petition to stop the reboot.

In case you missed it: Chainsaw Man x ZOZOTOWN clothing line opens pre-orders this week!

The internet being the internet

This new petition is not as complex as the first one as some people think that their points are not as objective as the reboot petition however their strongest argument is that "the series are being very popular, ergo, it is well done”.

In detail, the anti-reboot fans state the following reasons:

  • Peak numbers of viewers on the distribution sites.
  • The products sell quite well.
  • It has made collaborations with many companies.
  • The author, Tatsuki Fujimoto-sensei, is satisfied with the adaptation.
  • Most fans are also satisfied with the quality of the animation.
  • Sales of the manga increased in the wake of the anime.
  • It dominates the Google search rankings.

Anime adaptations are always surrounded by drama, I mean, do you remember what happened to The Promised Neverland adaptation? A mess. However Chainsaw Man is getting closer to its season finale and so far has been pretty enjoyable, even Fujimoto is satisfied with the result… so, who is right?
