Among the many Star Wars-themed productions currently in development is the Ubisoft-branded game in the works at Massive Entertainment studios in Sweden.

The announcement of the Ubisoft-branded Star Wars open-world game dates back to early 2021, but so far, nothing concrete has been shown about the project.

What we know so far

One of the last updates dating back to last spring speculated on a possible cross-gen development for Ubisoft's Star Wars, as Massive was looking for designers experienced with the PS4 and Xbox One architectures. Despite the general silence about the work, it appears that work is proceeding smoothly, with the authors now looking for playtesters for the game.

"We are looking for playtesters for the Star Wars Project! If you live near Malmö, we would love for you to sign up," Massive Entertainment says in a message shared on Twitter. The invitation is addressed only to people who live near Malmo, the Swedish city where Massive's studios are based. It is also unclear when testing is expected to begin and, specifically, which parts of the game will be put to the test.

In case you missed it: Battlefield 2042 releases a new Battle of Nordvik Event trailer!

So far, the only certain information about the Star Wars open-world game still shrouded in mystery is that it will be a story-driven work created via the Snowdrop Engine. Otherwise, all is silent about when the work will be officially unveiled to the public.
