Riot Games, creator of games such as League of Legends and VALORANT, announced earlier today that it will hold a charity voting campaign to allow players worldwide to decide which entities to support through Riot.

Collaborating with Riot's regional offices and GlobalGiving, the Riot Games Social Impact Fund has selected 84 nonprofit organizations whose work impacts 28 countries. The U.S. company allocated more than $6 million, raised through various charitable initiatives in its games, to create a fund for each country proportional to its contribution to these campaigns.

Many options to vote for

From Dec. 12 to Dec. 22, players can visit Riot's website to learn about all the selected nonprofit organizations and choose which one they want Riot to donate funds to. At the end of the voting period, the organization with the most votes in each country will receive 50 percent of the funds allocated for that country, while the other two will each receive 25 percent. Riot has guaranteed a minimum donation of $10,000 to each nonprofit participating in the initiative.

"Every year, when it comes to raising money for the Social Impact Fund and participating in charitable initiatives in games, players exceed our expectations; this year was no exception," said Jimmy Hahn, Senior Manager of Social Impact at Riot Games.

''We believe in allowing players to produce meaningful change in their communities, and charitable voting campaigns are a handy tool to let us know which causes and organizations carry the most weight locally. We truly have the best players in the world, and I can't wait to find out which organizations they choose!"
