Following the official announcement of the closure of The Witcher: Monster Slayer's servers, updates also arrive on the fate of Spokko, the development team behind the Augmented Reality game.
The company is letting employees go
Indeed, the software house has announced that it will soon undergo major internal restructuring. "As a result of recent changes in CD Projekt's long-term strategies," the Polish team announced, part of Spokko's staff will be incorporated within CD Projekt RED itself. This portion of The Witcher: Monster Slayer authors will thus have the opportunity to devote themselves to developing "key projects" within the European software house.
This fate, however, will not involve Spokko's entire team. Following the transition, CD Projekt RED confirms that part of the staff will be subject to layoffs. The Polish company assures that it will strive to "make the transition to the next step in their career as easy and safe as possible" for all employees. At the moment, more specific details regarding the number of developers involved have not been released.

"Although The Witcher: Monster Slayer was an incredible journey," the team states, "the game, unfortunately, did not meet our financial expectations.'' The Witcher: Monster Slayer will close in 2023 on Android devices and the iOS ecosystem.
