While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is highly anticipated in Japan, and beyond, Todd Howard also expresses his appreciation for Nintendo's work with the acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Why does Todd love this game?

During a recent interview, Bethesda's legendary game designer discussed various issues, including Link's latest adventure. The creator of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim confirmed that he had played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for a long time and found it "absolutely fantastic," to the point that the title has become his favorite chapter in the entire The Legend of Zelda saga.

"What it really excels at," Todd Howard continued, "is not limiting the player. The only constraints imposed by the title, the game designer notes, come from the skills Link has earned so far, but there are no "arbitrary barriers" instead. On this front, Howard concludes, "Nintendo has done an extraordinary job-it really is a magical game." The Kyoto giant's open world has thus been approved at Bethesda, which makes the genre its trademark.

In case you missed it: Fortnite won't be supported in Windows 7 or Windows 8 starting next season.

As you can see in the video, Howard is not only a fan of open-world games but also enjoys sports games and classics such as Tetris, Pac-Man, and Ultima. These titles have significantly impacted his work in many ways.
