After delighting us with the video reveal of Portal RTX in the setting of the GeForce Beyond event, NVIDIA is back to update us on the development of the updated version of Valve's platforming masterpiece to set its launch date on PC.

Accompanying the announcement of the release date of this free update for all owners of the original Portal we also find a comparative video that testifies, if there was still a need, to the incredible benefits offered by DLSS 3, the Deep Learning upsampling technology introduced by the greenhouse with the new family of GeForce RTX 40 Series video cards.
In addition to the aforementioned DLSS 3, Portal RTX will bring with it numerous graphical and performance enhancements resulting from the use of RTX Remix, such as the implementation of dynamic lighting in Path Tracing that promises to make scenarios significantly more immersive and realistic. There will also be improvements in the shadow management system (again through Path Tracing technology) and in the complexity of particle effects when using the Portal Gun.
The free Portal RTX update is scheduled to launch on Thursday, December 8, and players all around the world are already excited to experience this iconic title like never before!
