Fans of the Pokémon franchise waited a long time to enjoy the new title Pokémon Scarlet & Violet; however, since its launch, it has not had the best reviews.

But, the criticism and the problems presented by the game did not turn out to be a big problem since the titles are successful in sales in the United Kingdom. Also, as if that were not enough, the games have already broken some records.

These are currently the biggest physical releases of the year in the UK and the second most significant release for the franchise in the region. This implies that they surpassed FIFA 23 and that, regarding the saga, they only fell behind Pokémon Sun & Moon.

POKÉMON SCARLET & VIOLET TAKE THE CROWN IN THE UK

According to the details, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet exceeded the physical sales that FIFA 23 recorded at its premiere by 4%. So Switch titles are now the best UK releases of the year in that format. While they made more money than Sun & Moon due to their current price, they failed to break their record in terms of units sold.

According to the GfK report, Violet accounted for 52% of sales, while Scarlet was left with 42%. The rest was in charge of the double package that included both deliveries. Together, they sold 25% more than their Sword & Shield predecessors.

Also, its launch was 70% more popular than Diamond & Pearl and 56% better than Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so they broke it big despite all the criticism generated recently.

Things do not end there, as they also managed to take the throne from God of War: Ragnarök, which now occupies the fourth position in the top sales for the week that ended. As if that were not enough, they boosted Switch, and there was a 62% increase in sales.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
