For those who believed that the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft would be something simple, unfortunately, it is not; it will be until next year when we will know the verdict of the purchase.

On the other hand, some people believe that it is a matter of time before the purchase is completed, and others think that the regulators will put so many restrictions on the agreement that it will cause Microsoft to end up withdrawing the offer.

But, someone who wanted to speak about this issue is Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO. He decided to explain what Microsoft would do if they could not complete the purchase.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO XBOX IF ACTIVISION BLIZZARD BUY FAILS?

During a chat with CNBC, the CEO reaffirmed that he agrees with regulatory agencies analyzing the agreement and carrying out their investigations because it is one of the most significant video game and entertainment industry acquisitions.

Although Nadella is confident that the agreement will be successful, he does not entirely rule out its possible failure. So he was asked what Microsoft and Xbox would do if, for some reason, the purchase didn't go through.

"We have been in the world of video games for decades. We will be in gaming in the future," the CEO replied.

MICROSOFT WANTS TO CREATE MORE COMPETITION WITH THE BUYING OF ACTIVISION BLIZZARD

On the other hand, he pointed out that one of his main objectives with purchasing Activision Blizzard is to encourage competition. In addition, Microsoft and Xbox seek to offer a more open ecosystem so that more and more people can enjoy video games. To do this, it will continue to develop its technology and infrastructure, which have allowed it to promote gaming in the cloud, for example.

“Our goal is to provide more options for players to play [on all platforms] and for publishers to have more competition. The fundamental thesis for us is: what is the core technology that we build, that allows us to be in these different businesses while doing things that are valuable to customers? What can Microsoft do exclusively for gamers and game publishers? I think there is a lot we can do," Nadella concluded.
