After opening a window into the future of Magic The Gathering, Wizards of the Coast's top brass are taking to social media again to celebrate the launch of the second instalment of Magic's multi-set story arc inaugurated with Dominaria Unita. Here are all the details on Magic The Gathering: The Brothers' War.

The Brothers' War depicts the events of one of the most nostalgic and decisive moments in Magic's history, bringing fans of the iconic card game into the midst of the devastating Phyrexian invasion that will involve Planeswalker Teferi and all those who wish to seek answers in the past, against the backdrop of the bitter rivalry between the two brothers Urza and Mishra.

What does this set contain?

The 287 cards that make up this rich set tell the story of the conflict that disrupted the plane of Dimonaria with titanic mechs, giant armour and magical wars that caused a series of frightening events. With the plane entrenched in mech warfare, The Brothers' War is a set heavily focused on artifacts, as in the case of Power Stones, to be tapped for additional mana that cannot be used to cast non-artifact spells.

Space is also given to Prototype, an in-game mechanic focused on artifact creatures and representing an alternative cost for giant mechs, granting them the opportunity to enter the battlefield with a lower mana expenditure and a reduced amount of strength, constitution, and ability points.

in case you missed it: Sony wants to pause games for you when you're AFK with a new patent.

As the first Magic set to incorporate Elsewhere Worlds, The Brothers' War also throws Transformers into the mix, allowing fans of the sci-fi series to include Optimus Prime, Megatron and many other iconic characters in their deck, represented in borderless cards with a bold mech style.
