Despite announcing last spring the end of support for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft has not yet completely abandoned its tactical shooter, which indeed officially lands on next-gen.
Through an announcement made through its Twitter account, the French company confirms that the free upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S of Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available to all players, while also confirming all the details regarding the technical improvements made for the two new versions of the game.

What does this update bring?
Two different graphics modes are available on both the Sony and Microsoft platforms: a Performance Mode at 1080p and 60fps, and a Resolution Mode at 4K (upscaled in the case of Xbox Series X) and 30fps. As for Xbox Series S, finally, the work will travel at 1440p and 30fps.
Otherwise, the content is the same as already seen on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. With the end of support for the game confirmed in early 2022, it is very unlikely that new content designed specifically for the next-gen will be made. In any case, as of this moment, you can enjoy Ghost Recon Breakpoint in top technical form.
In case you missed it: Dead Island 2 is delayed again, but it already has a new date for its premiere.
Meanwhile, uncertainty remains over the future of the brand: a report by Kotaku speculated the release of a new Ghost Recon by 2023, but for the time being Ubisoft has not revealed any plans for the continuation of the series.
