It has been exactly 20 years since the first Splinter Cell game was launched. And for the occasion, Ubisoft is celebrating its official 20th anniversary with a special video and limited-time discounts for most Splinter Cell games in the Ubisoft store.

In case you missed it: Splinter Cell Remake: Ubisoft is looking to rewrite the story for a modern audience.

When we talk about the first Splinter Cell games, many of those who played them at the time usually give very good comments. This franchise is always remembered with a lot of nostalgia and a desire to play new titles. The last title in the series was Splinter Cell: Blacklist, released in 2013.

Ubisoft also shared an article post showing all the concept art if you want to take a look at all of them.

There is something else for this anniversary that is easy to overlook. In the YouTube video, we can read in the description box that the original game: Splinter Cell: Stealth Action Redefined, is available for free on the Ubisoft Store until 11/30/22. Moreover, you can see that most of the other franchise games have a generous discount, so this might be the chance to buy them and play the complete saga from start to finish!

Additionally, it was said by creative director Chris Auty that Splinter Cell animated series with Netflix is still under development. If both teams are working together, we might receive the remake title along with the Netflix series around the same time, and could be related to each other in some way or another. Here is what he said about it:

“We have some exciting things coming up as well with Splinter Cell. There's an animated series that's being worked on with our friends at Netflix, as well as the remake itself, which, of course, we know because we're all working on that, which is pretty cool.”

The remake is being carefully developed with no rush, as they want to keep the same essence of providing one of the best stealth games, just as it happened 20 years ago. This time for the modern audience, and hopefully will be loved by the ones who got to play its first title at its release.
