Recently the An An Awards were held in Japan and Hideo Kojima was present to accept a prize in honour of his mind-bending work on Death Stranding. To begin with, in case you are not familiar with them they are an annual award ceremony organized by the weekly Japanese women's lifestyle magazine An An.
Now, this is not the setting we are used to seeing Kojima, however, we appreciate catching him in even more events. Actually seems like he is also eager to try even more fields besides video games.
In case you missed it: Hideo Kojima just released his own podcast called Brain Structure
During his acceptance speech, Kojima mentioned that while he has made games for most of his career he thinks that all fields are connected in digital works, so he would like to expand from games to fields such as film and music, and to be fair we can totally see this happening.
Is not a secret that Kojima is a big fan of films, with several friends in the movie industry, and well, even his Twitter bio reads that he is “70%” made of movies, so yeah, the idea of him producing this kind of works is not that crazy.
However, the music side was never mentioned by him before at least not publicly, the only thing we know for sure is his incredible love for the Mexican singer Thalia, so, we don’t think he will pursue a similar genre as her, however… Can you imagine a collab?
The possibilities are infinite
Not so long ago, Kojima Productions announced it had established a TV and film studio based in Los Angeles, which is set to start creating content this year. On the other hand, he has shared with The Guardian some insights about his upcoming projects, one so revolutionary that if it succeeds will turn things around not just in the game industry but also in the movie industry.
Are you excited about the things Kojima has in store for us? We really want to see Thalia's collab to come true, until then let's keep an eye open for his upcoming projects.
