One of the most anticipated games this year was God of War Ragnarok, released just a few days ago. As expected, the game is successful in sales, especially in the UK.
According to a report by the firm GfK, the recent Santa Monica and PlayStation game is already the most successful franchise premiere in the United Kingdom.

Almost all installments of the saga have appeared in the top sales in the region and have held very good positions. Although the official data has not yet come to light, the firm indicates that God of War: Ragnarök is not only the best premiere but will soon become the fourth game in the saga to debut at the top of the list.
This milestone occurred previously with God of War (2018), God of War 3, and God of War 2. Other saga installments have occupied positions within the top 10, and others have not suffered the same fate. Despite this, God of War: Ragnarök has already achieved its first achievement regarding sales.

“God of War: Ragnarök will debut at #1 and is the first intergenerational title in the series. Day 1 physical sales were already higher than any full week launch sales for other titles in this franchise,” said Dorian Bloch, Head of GfK.

According to the details, many players bought a PlayStation 5 to enjoy the new adventure of Kratos and Atreus. Bloch revealed that 55% of the console's sales this week are due to the special bundle that includes the game.
God of War: Ragnarök is available now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
