Where they were in the 90s?

Lately, fan-made demake projects have been very popular, specifically with a Youtube channel called 64 Bits. But wait, if you are not familiar with the terminology “demake” may sound weird to you, don’t worry, we will explain everything.

A “demake” is an adaptation of a modern video game to an old platform. Most of them are fan projects as it is not done commercially, but it is a trend that emerged among the community of retro gamers, which adapts old games to new platforms… Too much nostalgia.

In case you missed it: Stray: now the cat can look like Garfield with this mod

Imagine your current favourite games on your favourite retro console

To be fair, I didn’t think before that the original Game Boy is already a retro console; I still remember playing with it but hey, if I already pay taxes this was bound to happen sooner or later.

So, imagine, it's 1992 and Stray just came out on the original Game Boy, imagine all the cute cat animations and sounds and a game which perfectly adapts to the black and white screen. Actually, the video covers the opening scene where the cat from Stray is unexpectedly separated from his family, we even get to see when it finally meets drone B-12 and obtains the backpack, only to realize that robots have created their own society among the ruins of the city.

Although the video only lasts 3 minutes, that's enough to admire the talent of the team behind 64 bits and believe us, you will wish this had existed back then.

Without further due here is the video:

Remember, the original Stray is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
