With the arrivals of Horizon Call of the Mountain for PlayStation VR 2 and the Netflix TV series (not to mention rumors about Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster), it seems that Sony intends to expand the boundaries of the series conceived by Guerrilla Games as much as possible.

According to a rumor by the Korean news outlet MTN, Sony has reportedly entered into a collaboration with NCSoft, a studio known for the Lineage series, to develop an MMO based on the Horizon franchise.

Is a new MMO in development?

According to reports, Sony intends to expand Horizon's audience further. At the same time, NCSoft wants to look out into a larger market, transcending the boundaries dictated by the Lineage IP.

A source close to Sony and NC said that the two parties "have tentatively agreed to promote a commercial partnership to create a new game using Sony's promising IP. NCsoft's in-house development team is making it. After starting development of the game, ongoing discussions are now in the form of 'pre-development and post-negotiation' in which the two companies discuss collaboration and commercial partnership."

Since the partnership with Sony has not yet been officially confirmed, job announcements are being made as "hiring developers for Project H." The game is currently in the "Seed" stage, a stage of development that NC labels its early-stage games. At a later stage of production, the project will enter the "Camp" stage.
