During an episode of his podcast, Hideo Kojima spoke about Abandoned, putting to rest once and for all the many rumors that have been chasing each other over time and that took for granted his involvement in the Blue Box Game Studio project.

Not only does Kojima claim that he has no idea what Abandoned is, but he also claims that he has never spoken to director Hasan Kahraman and that the whole thing has irritated him. Blue Box responded quickly, thanking the Japanese designer for finally addressing the situation from his perspective.

A new controversy begins

However, this comment does not seem to have been appreciated by gamers, particularly by Lance McDonald, a modder known for making Bloodborne's amateur 60fps patch, who comments harshly on Kahraman's team's words.

"Lol nice job trying to change the narrative, not gonna mention the whole "faked an entire game being in development so you could convince kids on the internet to play Rainbow Six Siege with you by telling them you'd eventually let them see the true gamedev secrets" issue?" McDonald said.

"Dude (referring to Kahraman) literally starts and flames a conspiracy theory that ends up causing annoyance for Kojima, then when Kojima expresses annoyance at him, tries to redirect it back at the fans. Absolute moron."

In case you missed it: Footage from Hideo Kojima's unannounced 'Overdose' appears to have surfaced.

In any case, it has been quite some time since there has been any concrete news about the development of Abandoned, so we will have to wait for substantial updates from the developers and see where the work stands.

Do you think this game will actually come out? Let us know in the comments!
