The Sims 5 playtest build cracked and pirated

Ohhh no…

One of the worst things that can happen to a game in development is happening right now to Project Rene or better known as The Sims 5. It almost sounds like a deja vu, isn’t it? It has been reported that its playtest build was cracked and pirated and has been doing its rounds on the internet.

You may be wondering how did this happen? Well, last week, specifically on October 25, EA held the insider playtest for Project Rene, where EA Playtesting members were able to try the game’s Workshop along with 3 friends.

In case you forgot: Hacker of GTA 6 and Rockstar visited the court for these charges

Everything was fun until…

Everybody had a good time, through the actual playtest, you were able to build an apartment from the ground up with friends, with thousands of options to customize it to the point where some players compare it with 3D modelling programs… Then, everything went down.

Precisely the fact that you could invite friends is what caused all this trouble, according to Tom Henderson, from Insider Gaming the game started making rounds outside of the playtesting groups.

The question is, how do you even play this game without connecting to the EA Servers first Well, the hackers have been able to generate access tokens using a playtester devuno token (which allows them to access the game). These generated tokens will allow anyone access to the game without needing any form of online access or approval from EA.

On the downside, the good thing has been that the response from the players has been incredibly good, everybody loves the playtest, even though they pirated it, so yeah… at least the response is good.
