Our first contact with God of War Ragnarok allowed us to delve into many aspects of the technical compartment, resolution, and framerate. With only a few days before the release, Santa Monica Studios wants to shed some light by publishing a summary table for the display modes on PS4, PS4 PRO and PS5.
So on the PlayStation 5, we will have Performance mode with dynamic resolution between 1440p and 2160p up to 60fps while Performance mode with High Frame Rate active lowers the resolution to 1440p and enjoys an unlocked framerate of 60fps, while Quality mode has a native resolution of 2160p with framerate up to 30fps.
These are the new graphic modes
God of War Ragnarok on PS5
- Performance: dynamic resolution between 1440/2160p target 60fps.
- Performance High Frame Rate: 1440p at 60fps framerate unlocked.
- Performance HFR VRR: 1440p 60fps target with framerate unlocked.
- Quality: 2160p (native) 30fps target.
- Quality High Frame Rate: 1800/2160p, target 40fps.
- Quality HFR VRR: 1800/2160p 40fps framerate unlocked.
God of War Ragnarok on PS4 and PS4 PRO
- PS4 Standard: 1080p 30fps.
- PS4 PRO Performance: 1080/1656p 30fps framerate unlocked.
- PS4 PRO Quality: 1440p/1656p target 30fps.

You need an HDMI 2.1 cable and a compatible TV or monitor to activate the high framerate mode. The God of War Ragnarok preload is available now; the new Kratos adventure comes out on November 9 on PS4 and PS5.
