Oh boy, hope your wallet is ready

Earlier today Sony shared everything about the PlayStation VR 2 and well… we were taken aback by its incredible price tag, no it's not incredible for “good reasons”. The newest Sony headset will be around $549 which is pricier than the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition.

Yeah, expensive but they have promised us an even greater immersive experience so… it may be worth the price? We will be able to know until its launch on February 22, 2023.

Did you know?: Sony licensed eye-tracking tech for the PlayStation VR2

Oh well, while we decide if it's worth it, Sony tried to soften the blow by sharing more details on some of the games that will be heading to their new virtual reality headset and we have a world of genres to choose from.

Without further due, here they are:

Nightmare material

For starters, we have The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR by Supermassive Games. This one will immerse you in this fast-paced rollercoaster action-horror shooter where every move you make could mean the difference between life and death. Prepare to dive into good VR horror as each track has multiple terrifying paths so no run is like the other.

Infinite bullets...

You don’t like to be scared to death? Oh don’t worry, the next one is Smilegate Entertainment’s, Crossfire: Sierra Squad. A brand new shooter where you will face a seemingly endless army, with great AI-based intelligence. Best part? Based on the gameplay the game seems like a fast-paced/action-packed shooter with a great soundtrack that you can play solo or with friends!

Want more? Here are more...

Shooters are the best fit for VR, so we had another one! The Light Brigade is a tactical roguelike shooter with realistic weapon mechanics and "immersive light magic". Fight your way through the forces in The Light Brigade as you travel through fragmented memories to bring light back to the darkness.

Watch your skyscrapers soar into the sky

Fast Travel Games gave us a break from all that action to present Cities: VR - Enhanced Edition an adaptation of Cities: Skylines. In this city-management simulator, you will become mayor in charge of designing neighbourhoods, constructing buildings and directing traffic, while taking care of the economy, emergency services and more. Watch your city come to life as the only limit… yes, you guess, it is your imagination.

Chaos, a lot of it...

Hey, do you like cute characters with weird humor? Then welcome to Cosmonious High! This stellar VR experience will introduce you to fun characters, where you will have to adapt amazing alien powers and discover the cause of this school's problems to save Cosmonious High from chaos.

Mr. Peterson is coming to VR2!

Surprise, surprise! Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue comes to both PS VR and PS VR2. Be ready to save your friends by sneaking into your neighbour's creepy mansion. The most interesting part of it? Some staff behind FNAF are working in this VR version, so the scares are guaranteed.

A VR classic is back on VR2

Prepare to be glued to your headset… again. Pistol Whip updates itself for the new VR generation and will offer a bunch of brand new PS VR2 features like haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and finger touch detection.

Even more VR games, directly to VR2!

The “ultimate” VR MMO, Zenith: The Last City will land on the PS VR2 with a completely remastered version and hundreds of hours of new content! Forge friendships in guilds and groups. Fight, craft, participate in epic raids and create your own path.

Zombies. Do you need more?

This intense, co-op shooter will have you shooting mutants left and right in a post-apocalyptic version of LA, so prepare your abilities as developer Vertigo Games mentioned it will support full cross-platform multiplayer on PS VR2 and Oculus Quest so you can play with friends, no matter the hardware.

Last but not least!

Here is the cute one, have you ever felt like a squid out of water? In Tentacular, you immerse yourself in the story of a giant, kind-hearted tentacled sea beast trying to find its place in the world in a physics-based adventure filled with oodles of humour.

Special Mention

No trailer for this one, however Coatsink, announced the Jurassic World Aftermath Collection, while there is no further information the developer promised to share more with us as they get closer to their debut date.

Did you make it this far? If so, which has been your favourite? There is definitely a lot to choose from and as alwayas remember to share your opinions with us in the comments!
