The Last of Us: multiple screens on HBO reveal its release date!

A new photo, or multiple screenshots of the same screen, began circulating today. It would show the preview screen of The Last of Us on the HBO Max home, revealing a relatively early release date that would match what has been anticipated. But how much of it is true?

In short: we woke up this morning to a screen that started circulating on the net, which would reveal in advance of any announcement of the release date of the highly anticipated HBO series The Last of Us, based on the Naughty Dog video game of the same name.

Is this information real?

The presentation reads, "A preview of the post-apocalyptic drama series based on the critically acclaimed video game. Coming January 15." The preview would contain a sneak peek; however, no evidence can be found online except for this screen. But many things give one pause for thought.

First, the screenshot is somewhat anonymous; it could have been quietly made to look like the HBO Max screenshot and then multiplied into multiple screens. Second, the few sources-whose trustworthiness is difficult to take up the image prove-who does not speak of it as an unintentional leak from HBO but as a piece of information on a display that can be found on the streaming service.

Finally, the icing on the cake is the fact that many of those sources are from countries where the service is not active, thus unable to do simple verification before breaking the news.

For now, the only congruence is with HBO's distribution window because The Last of Us is expected to be released in early 2023. All that remains now is to wait for a confirmation or denial of this rumor.
