Announced during the July 2020 Xbox Showcase, the Fable reboot by Playground Games immediately dropped off the radar after the first teaser trailer. Very little information was released in the two years since.
According to an update from Jez Corden dating back to last June, the development of Fable is progressing well, and over the months, the development team has expanded by welcoming several professionals from the video game industry.
Who is the latest addition to the developing team?
The latest to join is Andrew Welsh, a former member of Guerrilla Games and known for serving as Senior Writer for Horizon Forbidden West, as well as being Associative Narrative Director for Horizon Call of the Mountain, work carried on freelance.
Welsh confirmed on LinkedIn that he joined Playground Games to pursue the development of the next Fable game, although he has not specified what specific role he will play within the project for the time being. Given his background, however, it is highly likely that he will help shape the narrative of the anticipated RPG.

In case you missed it: The action game Evil West surprises with a new and bloody trailer.
Otherwise, it's unclear where work on the game, which is presumably still a long way off, stands: Fable will be revisited when it's ready, and Playground is working hard to bring back the popular Xbox franchise in the best possible way.
