María José Félix is a Mexican composer and sound designer with more than six years of experience in video games, television, film, music, and multimedia. María José has worked with 343 Industries on Halo Infinite, Iconic Music on Alien: Descent VR, Navegante Entertainment on Greak: Memories of Azur, Ogre Pixel on Lonesome Village, and more.
María José was selected as part of The Game Awards’ 2021 Future Class and is a co-founder of Game Audio Latam, a game audio community for all Latin America which was selected as one of the Game Changers of 2021 by The GamesIndustry.biz.
She has spoken at GameSound Con 2021, GDC 2022, GACO 2022, and GameSound Con 2022. María José Félix is currently working as a Composer and Soundscape Designer at Novel Effect as an independent contractor in videogames.
At Novel Effect, María has worked on more than 20 titles doing composition, sound design, voice acting, and implementation.
María’s work is living proof of how far talent can go and how beautiful it feels to make your dreams come true. The video game industry is mainly based in Japan, the US, Canada, and some European cities. The fact that the LatAm community can be part of the industry without belonging to the cities with the biggest video game studios says A LOT about how important it is to look further. To amplify the perception of where talent resides and what other countries can offer in this matter.
