Not only video games were present at Silent Hill's live event: during the stream on October 19, 2022, there was also room for the return of Konami's famous horror series to the cinema with the announcement of Return to Silent Hill.

The genesis of the new film was told through the six-minute teaser trailer, which also featured director Christopher Gans, already known for directing the first film dedicated to the franchise and released in theaters in 2006, and producer Victor Hadida. No clips from the upcoming film were shown during the live stream, leaving room for various artwork and official storyboards from Return to Silent Hill.

In addition to discussing the legacy left by the original film, Gans and Hadida promise an experience that will be very close to the video games and best relaunch the brand on the big screen. Return to Silent Hill is still in the early stages of production, but there is a great curiosity to find out how the authors will go about the new project.

For the Konami series, this is the third appearance in the cinematic world: after the first feature film, there was, in fact, room for a second film, Silent Hill Revelation, released in 2012 and directed by M.J. Basset.

Cinema aside, the franchisee will make its comeback through four new video games: among them was also announced the remake of Silent Hill 2, planned on P.C. and as a console time exclusive for PlayStation 5.
