The Sims 5, is that you? EA announces Project Rene

A new installment of the sim-life colossal

Rumours about the imminent announcement of The Sims 5 find confirmation, albeit partially, during the latest Behind the Sims event organized by Electronic Arts.

The EA Maxis team explains that it is working on The Sims Project Rene, the codename for the next instalment in the sim-life series.

What do we know so far?

On the sidelines of the digital show prepared by the U.S. publisher, Maxis developers showed the first scenes from The Sims 5 / Project Rene, a title that promises to offer the same gaming experience, content, modes and features on the most disparate devices.

The 'universal' nature of the new chapter of The Sims is supposed to underlie the choice made by Maxis in abandoning the 'classic numbering' of the series, ushering in a new era represented precisely by Project Rene.

Among the unique features of this new title will be the extraordinary ease in sharing the in-game experience experienced by individual users and player-generated content. There will also be no shortage of cooperative multiplayer activities, a complete reformulation of the house creation engine, and a new decor editor.

In case you missed it: The Sims 4: mod creators are monetarily harmed after game policy update.

Development on The Sims Project Rene has just begun. Consequently, there will be a long wait before we see it land on PC, consoles and mobile systems.
