Bayonetta’s original voice actress shares why she didn't return for the latest installment

She asks fans to boycott Bayonetta 3

Just when you think companies are starting to appreciate and be fair with all their workers and their contributions this news appears.

A few weeks ago it was announced that Hellena Taylor would not be returning to play the witch of Umbra due to various circumstances. However, the truth came out today as this morning Hellena Taylor herself took Twitter to reveal the reasons why she didn't return to voice Bayonetta in Bayonetta 3.

She said she turned down the lead role due to unfair remuneration rates, as the developers offered her an "insulting" payment for her work even though the franchise has generated millions of dollars.

Unfair is an understatement

According to Taylor, she received an offer of only $4000 to reprise her role as Bayonetta in the third game. She found this insulting considering all her previous work and the fact that the saga has made over $450 MDD without taking into account merchandise sales, according to the voice actress.

She then invited fans of the franchise to boycott the release of the new game and invest that money in a good cause. She emphasized that all she was looking for was fair pay for all the effort she has put in during her career, but in the end, she was more than disappointed.

"This is an insult to me, the amount of time that I took to work on my talent and everything I've given to this game and the fans. I'm asking the fans to boycott this game and instead spend the money that you would spend on this game donating it to charity. I didn't want the world, I wasn't asking for too much. I was just asking for a decent, dignified, living wage. What they did was legal, but it was immoral.”
