If you didn’t know, Embracer Group recently acquired the complete western studio division of Square Enix and it seems like they are not wasting time as they have already started working on ideas for new projects.
One of them is the possible return of the Legacy of Kain saga in the hands of Crystal Dynamics. How do we know? Not long ago and for this purpose, a survey was conducted among the fans, the incredible response surprised the team at Crystal Dynamics which may use this info to justify the project.
Its return is near!
As you may know, Legacy of Kain, is one of the most recognized IPs of the late 1990s and early 2000s whose Soul Reaver installment was a milestone for 3D adventure games and for years, the community were asking for a remaster or even a remake, however, time passed and nothing materialized.
With Embracer's acquisition of Crystal Dynamics, things may have changed, as we said at the beginning of this article, the studio and the company wanted to know how much the fans wish for a new installment of Legacy of Kain, they opened up a survey which is not closed yet, so you can share your thoughts too.

Now, the fans' hype is unbelievable… at least for the studio. We all know how eager the community has been with the remaster/remake theme (see 007 GoldenEye or DinoCrisis for example).
Crystal Dynamics acknowledged the participation of thousands of players and confirmed that there is interest and more than enough for the return of Legacy of Kain:

Embracer’s strategy for its newly acquired studios to revive some of its most emblematic franchises and everything indicates that the process has begun with this small but important step. Well… let's say that it has elevated everyone's expectations, hopefully, it turns out to be a reality
