The voices of the Super Mario movie continues to generate controversy

These days have been special for all Nintendo fans because they finally witnessed the reveal of the first Mario Bros. movie after so many years of the franchise.

When it was announced that a movie was in the works for the franchise, it was natural for all fans to be concerned about the character's voice acting because there is no game where a character has entire sentences. In the few phrases we hear, we get used to a specific tone and accent, especially for Mario because his voice is more highly speech and some way, Italian.

Charles Martinet is the one who has given life to Mario Bros' voice for many years, so everyone believed that the most logical option for the voice character in the new movie would be the performance of Martinet. However, it was a surprise for all when Nintendo announced they would bet on Chris Pratt to bring the character to life.

The problem is that we heard Mario's voice when Nintendo revealed the trailer. Because of that, fans generated controversy for not liking Chris Pratt's voice acting.

FANS ASKED CHARLES MARTINET TO SUPPLY CHRIS PRATT AS THE VOICE OF MARIO

Shortly after the film's trailer reveal, actress Tara Strong shared an image where she is seen next to Charles Martinet. She accompanies the image with a message that makes it clear that she is not entirely satisfied with the choice of Pratt as the voice of Mario.

"It should have been Charles," says the message from the actress. She later explained why she believes that not choosing Martinet was a grave mistake on the part of Nintendo and Illumination.

Later, she made a special publication so that all her followers could share images, videos, and messages of support for Martinet. The community responded positively and uploaded material where the voice actor is seen.

Strong's statements divided players' opinions, as some believe that Charles Martinet should be yes or yes in the project. On the other hand, some people are satisfied with Pratt's work.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will debut in spring 2023.
