Steam Deck will be pre-orderable with no more reservations!

Although the response to Nintendo's hybrid console was equally successful, the launch of Steam Deck during an economically difficult period for the hardware manufacturing industry profoundly marked the success of Valve's gaming platform produced and marketed.

Several factors harmed Steam Deck's overall sales performance, all of which were more or less directly related to the overall quality of the product sold by Valve. However, we are still talking about hardware that has passed the one million unit mark and has been placed on the market.

Still, we cannot ignore the significance of hardware unaffordability in recent years, which even the newest addition to video game platforms has had to deal with. However, the availability of Steam Deck is about to change.

The official Steam Deck Twitter account just announced that the console will be available without reservations starting today. So we'll finally be able to say goodbye to the months-long waits to add Steam Deck to our collection of videogame hardware. Given the limited availability of the Playstation 5 and, to a lesser extent, the Xbox Series X, it appears that Valve is ready to shake up a market that has yet to fully recover.

However, the news of increased Steam Deck deployment without a reservation barrier is accompanied by a recent system update that introduces several improvements aimed at ensuring greater responsiveness of keyboards connected to the console and preparing the platform for the Steam Deck Dock, which is now pre-orderable.

The Dock station will enable all gamers to connect their Steam Deck to their TV and/or monitor, though the $89 price tag at launch may be prohibitively expensive for some users.

While there is some good news for those who wanted to buy Valve's console at first, the company has stated that "there is always the possibility that demand will outstrip supply," and thus future limits on the purchase of the reservation-free gaming platform may be introduced.
