Wizards of the Coast recently announced the 30th Anniversary Edition, a commemorative and collectible product celebrating 30 years of Magic: The Gathering, kicking off a year-long celebration of the 30th anniversary of one of the most iconic card games ever made.
''30th Anniversary Edition is a commemorative, collectible, non-tournament-legal product celebrating 30 years of Magic. Inspired by Limited Edition Beta, 30th Anniversary Edition lets fans and collectors experience some of the most iconic elements of Magic's early years,'' the official website reads.
Magic: The Gathering has nearly 25,000 unique cards and has been played by 50 million people in 150 countries over nearly 30 years.
Friday Night Magic is a popular casual tournament in over 6,000 game stores worldwide. The 30th Anniversary Edition, inspired by the limited Beta edition and the first Magic base set released in October 1993, pays homage to its roots and features the classic art style from the early years of Magic: The Gathering in a revamped form.
Although not tournament legal, the cards are highly collectible, elicit nostalgia, and allow fans to relive some of Magic's most iconic experiences.
