When trying to access Overwatch 2, you may have noticed that Blizzard Entertainment's free shooter is not working properly, which appears to be due to a DDoS attack.
Blizzard Entertainment president Mike Ybarra addressed the problems encountered by the development team in detail in a series of tweets on his official Twitter account.
“Teams are working hard on server issues with Overwatch 2,” he tweeted. “We are humbled by the excitement of players and will continue to focus on issues and get players into the fun! Thanks for your patience.''
Then, a few minutes later, he informed users about the attack: “Unfortunately we are experiencing a mass DDoS attack on our servers. Teams are working hard to mitigate/manage. This is causing a lot of drop/connection issues.”
Although the cause of the problems is known, the developers do not appear to be able to provide a timeline for the servers to return to normalcy, and the servers are likely to remain unstable throughout the day. In any case, the team is fully aware of the issue and will do everything possible to resolve it as soon as possible.
