Cyberpunk 2077 had one of the most disappointing launches in gaming history because, after years of hype and promises with the title launch, the final installment was full of bugs that made the game almost unplayable on some platforms, thus causing many players to ask for a refund.

But the CD Projekt RED studio did not give up. Since they had already worked on a whole story and futuristic universe, they decided to try the anime format to give a second chance to revive the game, and who would say that launching an anime would be the perfect strategy? After the launch of the animated series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, the video game resurfaced again, generating many sales.

Once explained, we tell you that the emotion for the dev team of CD Projekt RED has been so much that an important member of the development team issued some thanks and talked about this resurgence, to the point of tears.

“IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK” DEV ON THE CURRENT POPULARITY OF CYBERPUNK 2077

Pawel Sasko, quest director for Cyberpunk 2077, was one of the first people to thank fans for the project's revival. He decided to talk more about it in a recent live broadcast that hosted a very emotional moment.

Specifically, the creative spoke about how he feels about the current positive reception of the open-world game. During a moment of the stream, we observe that his emotion is such that he fights to contain his tears.

"It's hard to explain, you know? When you put so much heart and soul into something. For some of us it was 6,7 or 8 years, especially for those who started from the beginning. So to have that moment where people like something we did, it feels a little unreal; find that people finally appreciate it,” said Pawel Sasko.

The creative confessed that his girlfriend saw him devastated during the controversial launch of Cyberpunk 2077. After pausing to hold back tears, he continues with his speech and explains that "it's good to be back."

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google STADIA, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners is now available on Netflix.
