Just in time to celebrate The Last of Us Day! Premiere set to 2023

After months and months of waiting to see a full trailer, the day finally arrived and we already have the first teaser of the award-winning series created by Naughty Dog, The Last of Us, which will be broadcast exclusively through the HBO Max platform.

Through different social media and just in time to celebrate The Last of Us Day, HBO, Naughty Dog, and PlayStation have shared the first preview of just over a minute and a half, which allows us to see the live-action version of the daunting world in which Joel, Ellie, and the rest of the inhabitants are doomed to try to survive.

"The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.", vía HBO.

Why September 26 is so special for the franchise?

If you're not a "hardcore" fan of the series, you might be wondering what makes September 26 so special. Originally, The Last of Us Day was known as the 'Outbreak Day' for two reasons: first, because of the critical point that the Cordyceps outbreak reached in The Last of Us; and second, because it was Joel's birthday. It wasn't until just under 2 years ago that, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Naughty Dog decided to rename this date The Last of Us Day.

For now, the series does not have a definitive premiere date. However, as we can see in the trailer, his debut is confirmed for sometime in 2023.

After seeing this first trailer, what do you think? Do you believe the series will live up to the hype. Tell us in the comments belox below.
