The Callisto Protocol will have many secret areas, Glen Schofield promises

In addition to several difficulty modes and audio logs

Glen Schofield provides some interesting tidbits about the secret areas to be discovered while exploring the map of Striking Distance's anticipated horror adventure after confirming a year of support for The Callisto Protocol with DLC and expansions.

Schofield (Dead Space's creator) confirmed in a recent interview with GameReactor that The Callisto Protocol will have many secret areas and that by discovering them, we will be able to exponentially enrich the dark-tinged experience we will be living as our alter-ego.

Schofield then goes into the surprises planned for those who visit these secondary areas of the map, stating that "sometimes you will find areas that will connect back to areas you have already visited and show them differently. It will all seem very 'messy' to you, but only because it will be an eerie experience, like what you will experience when exploring an old chapel. Only after visiting these areas in depth will you understand that they will be an integral part of the story."

Striking Distance's top exponent further explains that the secret areas of The Callisto Protocol will be very varied, a kind of 'kaleidoscope of horror' that will take the form of "places that will seem to you from time to time to be scarier or darker, wetter or 'nastier' than those you have seen so far. There will be many audio logs and it will be through them that you will understand what happened, or they will give you useful hints about enemies and history. These will be small but important narrative fragments to collect. These areas will be well hidden, but by paying attention to the clues you will know how to find them."

On December 2, 2022, The Callisto Protocol, the spiritual successor to Dead Space, will be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
